Teacher & Lifesaver

I co-ordinate and promote the annual programme of continuing professional development for the Club's swimming teachers, lifeguards and volunteers. Developing in-house learning is important and ensures our staff are up to date with training and development. I also assist with the induction of new staff.

Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Teacher & Lifesaver

I have always loved swimming and from a young age swam for Poole Swimming Club and Dorset county. I want to pass on to the children the fun and freedom of being able to swim and to be confident in water.

Pool swims at Sedbergh help me to relax and keep me physically and mentally in good health. I also enjoy swimming outdoors feeling the smooth glide of cool water from local rivers and lakes. Swimming is also a great way to meet swim buddies and supportive friends.

Teacher & Lifesaver

I have loved swimming since I was young, both in the pool at Sedbergh and outdoors. I enjoy competing in triathlons and swimming events across the county, and I became a qualified swimming teacher in 2016. Teaching local kids to swim is something I truly enjoy, and I hope they'll grow to share my love for the water.

Swimming has always been a major part of my life — I first qualified as a Lifeguard in 1974! I especially enjoy Scuba Diving. Learning to swim early has given me so much confidence in the water — it feels like a natural environment for me.

All three of my children have been taught to swim by the swimming club, as was I. I really enjoy giving a little back through my role. I enjoy swimming, listening to music and spending time with my family.

Teacher & Lifesaver

I developed a love of swimming during my teenage years, and it has remained a passion ever since. With over 15 years of teaching experience, I was thrilled to accept the opportunity to join the team as a swimming teacher, which allows me to bring my background in teaching into a rewarding environment, supporting others in learning a life skill that is both essential and highly beneficial.

I was a competitive swimmer as a child and have coached swimming on and off for over 20 years. I’m really enjoying helping out at the club, working with the youngsters to fine-tune their technique and boost their confidence in the water.
