How do I become a member?

Can I try a session before joining?

If you'd like to see what we're about before committing, get in touch via email and we'll do our best to arrange a taster visit accompanied by a member.

What sessions are available?

We offer Babies & Toddlers (Saturday 10–11am), Children's Lessons (Tuesday & Thursday evenings, term time), Saturday Fun (10–11am, all ages), and Adult Lane Swimming (Thursday 7:30–8:30pm).

Do children's lessons run during school holidays?

Children's lessons on Tuesday and Thursday evenings run during term time as do the Saturday sessions, over 60s swimming continues all year

Question 7

What age can children start lessons?

We welcome babies and toddlers from a very young age in our Saturday parent-and-child sessions. Formal lessons are available for children of school age.

How many people can attend Saturday Fun?

Saturday Fun sessions are capped at 30 people. Children under 8 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

What lanes are available for adult swimming?

Thursday adult lane swimming has three lanes — slow, medium and fast — so you can swim at a pace that suits you. There's always a friendly face to offer guidance if needed.

How long is the pool?

The pool is 25 metres long, suitable for both recreational swimming and lane training.

Are there changing facilities?

Yes — we have recently refurbished changing rooms and dedicated disability changing facilities available to all members.

Is equipment provided?

Equipment such as floats and aids is provided for the Babies & Toddlers session. For other sessions, members are welcome to bring their own kit.

Where is the pool located?

The pool is located at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumbria. We are grateful to Sedbergh School for their continued support and use of their facilities.

Is Sedbergh Swimming Club a charity?

We are a voluntary, non-profit making organisation set up by local people for the benefit of the community. We have been serving Sedbergh and the surrounding area since 1976.
